  • Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to inspire and provoke curiosity, which motivates and leads children to be inquisitive about the world around them. We want our pupils to experience hands-on learning and in real contexts. We aim to get the best out of every experience and through our nurturing and respectful ethos, pupils grow and develop into active and interested learners.

We aim to provide a rich, ambitious and balanced curriculum full of experiences and enrichment opportunities which motivate, inspire and challenge each and every one of our pupils as they pass through Lovington Primary School.

The intent of our curriculum is to secure knowledge, skills and attitudes to equip our pupils to become successful members of society. Giving experiences that foster aspiration and achievement, whilst developing confidence and resilience, preparing them for their next steps.

Our Christian values underpin all aspects of our curriculum and our school day and our aim is that pupils leave Lovington Church of England Primary School as confident, thoughtful and engaging citizens of the future.

    Equality in Teaching and Learning

At Lovington Primary School, we strive to ensure that all pupils are given the opportunity to succeed and reach the highest level of personal achievement, irrespective of their background.

    We do this by:

    • Promoting positive attitudes and values that challenge discriminatory behaviour, prejudice and stereotypes.
    • Ensuring equality of access for all pupils and preparing them for a life in a diverse society.
    • Providing a wide range of opportunities to ensure all pupils value their own culture and beliefs but also celebrate and respect the diversity of other cultures.
    • Seeking to involve parents in supporting their child’s education.
    • Utilising teaching approaches that are appropriate for the whole school, which are inclusive and reflective of our pupils.
    • Using materials that reflect the diversity of the school, population and local community without stereotyping.
