Contribution to Society

At Lovington Primary School, we recognise the importance of our contribution to society, both locally and within the wider world.

Our pupils consider many events where they can contribute to the world we live in.

As well as representing our school at local events, including Remembrance Services and Sea Shanty choir performances, Lovington children also play an active part in fund raising.

Our Poppy Appeal this year raised £43.75. Thank you to everyone who supported this.

At our Christmas Fair, after learning all about endangered species in Kenya, Pippin Class sold their animal card designs and raised £18 for the Taita Hills Animal Sanctuary.

As part of our Harvest Festival celebrations this year, we asked for donations of food to go to the Millbrook Community Hub in Castle Cary. Thank you to our staff, our children and their families for their very generous donations. The Community Hub were very grateful to receive so many items. These will go to families who may need extra support.

After hearing from the Rainforest Roadshow and learning all about rainforests, Bramley and Russet Class raised £21.51 for the Rainforest Trust by selling comics, jewellery and amazing goodie bags at our May Fayre.

Our May Fayre fundraisers also raised £21.51 for Yeovil Hospital and £21.51 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Thank you very much to our families who donated online for Hello Yellow Day, supporting young people with their mental health. We raised £60.
